Google Scholar is a free online platform that helps scholars to organize their scholarly works, such as journal articles, books, unpublished theses and dissertations, abstracts, and other materials, so that they may be found, accessed, and cited across all disciplines. Your works will be more visible and searchable in Google searches if you create a Google Scholar Profile.
Advantages
- Quick and simple to use
- Formatted citations in APA, MLA, Harvard, and other forms are available.
- Open access journals' full text are accessible.
- For cited papers, it provides citation analysis.
- Provides library links (for example, full-text @ CUD Library).
- Articles, conference papers, reviews, case studies, and reports are among the many publications available.
Disadvantages
- For restricted publications or without a subscription, full-text is not available.
- When accessing off-campus resources, you must set up Library Links in Google Scholar.
- Unable to refine scholarly publications only
- There are only a few options for narrowing down search results.
